Kids’ Comic Con 2017 Program Schedule

10 a.m.: Welcome by Alex Simmons

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS

11:00 AM – 12:00 AM:  Art of Making Comics 101: learn the basics of creating comics (jobs, terms, etc) from first idea to finished character inks. (Artist: MICHAEL GRASSIA)

12:15 PM – 1:00 PM: HOW TO DRAW FUNNY CHARACTERS w MY LITTLE PONY artist DIANA LETO.

1 PM – 1:15 PM: RAFFLE DRAWING # 1

1:15 PM – 2:00 PM – Cartoon Carnival! A fun series of drawing challenges that will spark your imagination and tickle your funny bone! (Artist: MARK MARIANO).

PORTFOLIO REVIEW CREW: Noon – 5 PM   All day, professional writers, illustrators, and editors will review students’ portfolios (artwork) to give them tips on how to improve their work.

1 PM – 2 PM: LESLIE & LOLLY’S “WHAT A CHARACTER WORKSHOP.” Sesame Streets puppeteer star and voice talent, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph and friend, will show kids how to create wild characters in art and puppetry. It’s a skill that’s taken her from stage to TV and more.

2:15 PM — 2:30 PM: RAFFLE DRAWING # 2

3 PM – 4:00 PM – THE ART IN ACTION: Learn some of the tricks of drawing dynamic comic book characters in action with artist/animator, (Artist: Shawn “Powersmith” Atkinson).

4:00 PM — 4:15 PM: RAFFLE DRAWING # 3

4:15 PM – 5 PM: Special Announcement About KCC INTERNATIONAL NEWS!

(KCC founder Alex Simmons will reveal some exciting news on the main floor.)

6 PM: Closing.
